Adenia Fishing Company Ltd from Lerwick, Shetland, has ordered a new large pelagic midwater trawler based on a design from Salt Ship Design in Stord, Norway. The new fishing vessel will be built by Astilleros Zamakona, San Sebastian, Spain, and will be delivered from the shipyard in June 2019.

The 69,90 metres fishing vessel has a beam of 15,60 metres and a carrying capacity of more than 2000 cum in RSW tanks.

We are very pleased with a new contract so quickly after Salt in May this year signed its latest contract in fisheries. Salt Ship Design will deliver a complete design and engineering package for the new fishing vessel.

George Anderson and his crew has been working closely with Salt for several months to develop a vessel tailored for his quotas and the areas where the vessel will operate. This has resulted in a very effective, green and modern fishing vessel.

This represents a very important contract, which adds to an already good order book. Salt has currently 14 vessel designs under construction at Norwegian and foreign shipyards. Unlike the current offshore market, fisheries and fish farming are doing very well and these segments represents an increasingly important market for Salt.
