The Finnish shipyard Kewatec AluBoat signed today a new shipbuilding agreement with the Norwegian Pilot Boat service provider Buksér og Berging. The agreement includes deliveries of two Kewatec Pilot 1820 and is a continuation of the good co-operation between the companies during the last years. The new boats will be delivered by the end of 2018.
“After thoroughly testing of the Kewatec 1820-pilot boats, have we found these state-of-the-art pilot boats very suitable and efficient for our future pilot boat service”, says John A. Nielsen from Buksér og Berging AS. “We are especially happy for the excellent sea behaviour of the boats, the manoeuvrability as well as the low fuel consumption. The new agreement is a good proof of our confidence in Kewatec quality and deliveries, and we look forward to receiving two more Pilot 1820 boats in our fleet.”
“We are very happy with the appreciation and trust to build new pilot boats to Norway”, says Kewatec AluBoats CEO Jens Ahlskog. “The challenging conditions at the Norwegian coast does suit our boats very well. The duties should be performed day and night, around the year.
The Norwegian pilot boat operation was privatized 2016, and the ship salvation and towboat company Buksér and Berging took over the operation. The company owns and operates about 25 pilot boas and 35 tow boats throughout the Norwegian coast.
