Chinese-Norwegian sisters delivered

In June, while sea-trials were carried out for “Zhong Shan 26” in Norway, the structure of her sistership, “Xin Shun Shui”, was already underway to our Chinese subsidiary Sinoway for outfitting. Now four months later, “Xin Shun Shui” has been completed by Sinoway in Nansha and both vessels have started their operations in the Pearl River Delta.

Top speed of 37 knots

Equipped with 2x1440 kW MTU 16V2000M72 engines, the waterjet-propelled new builds have an impressive 37 knots top speed. In fact, 37,3 knots speed were achieved (on average) during trials, having 26t of deadweight on board.

The 44m and 470 grt carbon catamarans are identical on most parameters, but differs slightly on passenger capacity. While “Zhong Shan 26” takes 230 passengers, “Xin Shun Shui” has the capacity to carry 263 passengers. Both vessels feature a separate first class accomodation in the fore part of the passenger lounge with capacity of 50 and 61 passengers, respectively.

“Zhong Shan 26” is own by Zhong Shan Port, while “Xin Shun Shui” belongs to Shunde Port.
