Last week, the offshore supplier “L Symphony” was pushed ashore in front of the Lunehalle to be converted into an expedition yacht. Wolfhard Scheer The “L Symphony” is actually a work ship: large, robust, seaworthy. But the almost ten-year-old offshore supplier is now to be turned into a luxury yacht, designed for expeditions to the most remote parts of the world's oceans. The Bremerhaven-based Lloyd Werft received the conversion contract. Last week, the almost 90 meter long ship was put ashore in the fishing port and pushed into the lune hall.

There is not much information about the planned renovation. The 87.9 meter long utility was originally delivered in 2015 as “Energy Lindesnes” from ASL Shipyard Indonesia. The ship arrived at Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven around a year ago, but for contractual reasons they are not allowed to provide any information about the upcoming project. According to available information, Stahlbau Nord, a Rönner Group company, is to place prefabricated steel sections in the Lunehalle on the ship's current working deck and extend the deckhouse. Stabilizers may also be installed as part of the conversion. It can be assumed that the interior work on the expedition yacht will also take place in the Lunehalle. There is no information about a delivery date or the client.

Complicated lowering maneuver

The lowering maneuver of the ship in front of the Lunehalle required a lot of effort: In the Neustadt harbor (Bremen) the “L Symphony” was floated onto the lowered heavy-duty pontoon “BHV Innovation” of the Rönner company BVT Chartering. A specially deepened pit is available there for such purposes, and in recent years the frigates manufactured by Stahlbau Nord for the Egyptian Navy have been launched using this pontoon.

The cargo then arrived back in Bremerhaven "piggybacked". With the help of a tug, the pontoon passed the fishing port double lock and moored at the Labrador pier in front of the Lunehalle. The pontoon has a special coupling system for the quay. With special heavy-duty vehicles, so-called SPMTs the “L Symphony” was moved to Hall 2. The ship will probably be converted into an exclusive expedition yacht by the end of 2025.

The highly secretive 88m L Symphony yacht conversion has been seen for the first time as the project nears completion.

First seen in April 2025 in Stahlbau-Nord Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven GmbH in Bremerhaven, Germany, where she has been undergoing conversion, the yacht has now left the shed ahead of the finalisation of the project which is expected in late 2026-early 2027.
