Ferge og Fergesamband

Eit problem med ferjelemmen på Utbjoa ferjekai hindra ferjene i sambandet Fjelberg–Sydnes–Utbjoa i å gå til land måndag føremiddag.
 
Malangen var tilbake igjen mellom Hansnes-Karlsnes-Vannøy, men fikk kun gått to turer før det var stopp, pga problem med styresystemet om bord etter hybridiseringen. Skutvik som erstattet Stetind som også fikk problemer er nå på vei nordover igjen.
Stetind kom seg aldri nordover. Blitt liggende i Tromsø siden den 28.12.
 
Petter Dass er kommet til Kvanndal. Inn som reserve selv om Tomma ligger der?

Hydra klar til å gå i rute? Hjelmeland nå.
 
Dryna har tatt turen over Hustadvika, og kl 1610 er den like ved Seivika FK. Dryna skal vist ligge i KSU som reserve en stund fremover.

MF "Selbjørnsfjord" was the only dual fuel ferry built at Fiskerstrand Verft in 2010...

Strange that so many big modern double-enders are for sale in Norway, f.ex. built in 2007, 2010 or 2013.
Only "zero emission" matters... .

Hello Ropax, the reason is simply the law, which require a tender for the services. The "best" offer wins. The procurement of the vessels is the responsibility of the winner of the competition. If one loose a route and there is currently no other need for the vessel, they put them on sale. Sometimes, they even put activ vessels on sale, because they may have other less valued vessels in dissuse.

Vart berre ei kort periode på måndegen tydeligvis, ligge i Kristiansund no. Merkelig nok har reserveferjen til Sunnmøre, Sykkylvsfjord, flyttet seg til Kristiansund og, mens det på Hjørundfjorden kun er ei ferje i drift.

"Sykkylvsfjord" skal vel mest trolig avløse "Driva" som straks skal på sitt årlige verktedsopphold

Yes, sure - but it is strange to see in Norway so many young ferries for sale - and in many other countries often 30, 40 or 50 (!) years old ferries are still operating. Norway is really very positive, modern and far in front of other countries with the tendering-system for the fjord-crossing-ferries and island-ferries.
Furthermore a lot of new (very very long hanging / swimming) more underseatrunnels and big bridges are under construction or in planning-phase in Norway. If we look ca. 20-25 years forward in the future - CIRCA how many of the mostly double-end-ferries-routes will then still operate and not be replaced by any new tunnel or bridge, 5 ? 10 ? 15 ? 20 ?.
Horten-Moss and Bodö-Lofoten will continue long-term - but are there many routes more ?
Would also mean that some ferry-companies will close the business or try to continue ferry-operation in other countries, f.ex., as Fjord1 in Canada already ?

Just for compare: In Faroer-islands in 2030 all islands with more than 1 or 2 dozen people living there will be connected with big underseatunnels up to 22,5km long = no ferry will then exists there.
