Havyard wins major offshore contract

“We have developed a vessel which meets the demands from both shipowner and operator of the vessel. We have managed to strike a balance between technical and commercial aspects, and such being able to win an oil contract in a tough and competitive market.”
Vice President Sales of Havyard Design & Solutions, Gisle Vinjevoll Thrane, is thrilled with this contract, which of course means work for both Havyard Design & Solutions and Havyard Power & Systems, in addition to several subcontractors in the region.
In addition to design, Havyard will also deliver ship equipment system packages with a total value of more than NOK 100 mill, including Havyard’s own Concept Bridge™.

Innovation
Havyard 832 MPV is a multifunctional vessel. The ship is going to be constructed at the Cemre Shipyard in Turkey for the shipping company Esvagt, and will be in operation for the American Hess Corporation.
Havyard 832 MPV is additionally a result of long-term work on the hull shape and improved seakeeping capabilities.
“Our objectives have been very clear in terms of what we want to achieve, we’ve had strict requirements and put a lot of resources into finding the best interaction between the variables that provide the best performance and seakeeping capabilities,” according to R&D Manager, Havyard Group, Kristian Steinsvik.

Development
This will become the sixth Havyard vessel contracted by Esvagt. The other contracts are four Wind Service Operation Vessels and one Crew Change Vessel. The latest contract is the first one within the oil segment.
“Through our close cooperation with Havyard, we know that we receive vessels that provide our customers with safe, innovative and efficient services,” says Chief Operating Officer of Esvagt, Kristian Ole Jakobsen.
Gisle Vinjevoll Thrane of Havyard, says that their solid cooperation with Esvagt leads to good results.
“The cooperation has been a solid and long-term one. We know what Esvagt expects from us, and they know that we deliver and meet their expectations. We know and trust each other. Something which means that we challenge each other and are able to develop unique vessels like Havyard 832 MPV, winning a contract in a tough, competitive and currently dried-out market.”
Work on design and ship equipment system packages will commence immediately and the vessel is due to be delivered during spring 2018.

The latest two new builds for, respectively, the offshore wind and oil and gas sector brings the ESVAGT fleet up to 43 vessels.

Summer holidays are far from ESVAGT's programme as they enter July.

On Wednesday, the new build, ’Esvagt Dana’, was delivered by Zamakona Shipyard in Bilbao, and on Thursday, ESVAGT took ownership of the H-053 new build from Cemre Shipyard in Turkey. This means that ESVAGT starts the summer with two new vessels – both delivered in the same week – and a fleet of 43 vessels in total:

"Two newly built vessels underline ESVAGT’s continued ambition for organic growth within both the offshore wind and offshore oil/gas sectors," says ESVAGT’s CEO, Kristian Ole Jakobsen.

The new builds are an SOV (Service Operation Vessel), which will be assigned to GE on the Merkur Offshore Wind Farm in the German sector of the North Sea, and an MPV (Multi Purpose Vessel), which will service Hess’ oil/gas production in the Danish sector. Both vessels will enter charter over the summer.

"The two new builds will help to strengthen ESVAGT’s position in both the offshore wind and the offshore oil/gas markets. We continue our trusted partnership with Hess on a 10 year contract, and with an SOV for GE, we now have service vessels on contract with three major, leading wind turbine manufacturers," says Kristian Ole Jakobsen.

'Esvagt Innovator' klar til Hess på Syd Arne

ESVAGT's nye, topmoderne MRV 'Esvagt Innovator' - går i juli på kontrakt for Hess på Syd Arne-feltet.

Det er et af de største og mest
moderne MRV’er (Multi Role Vessels) i ESVAGT’s flåde, som i slutningen af juli tager hul på en flerårig kontrakt med Hess på Syd Arne-feltet.

'Esvagt Innovator', som kommer helt ny-bygget fra Cemre Shipyard i Tyrkiet, skal videreføre 19 års godt samarbejde mellem Hess og ESVAGT på Syd Arne. Udover de opgaver med stand by, forsyning og opkobling til tankskibe, som ESVAGT i dag løser med 'Esvagt Connector', skal 'Esvagt Innovator' håndtere service, vedligehold og inspektion af slangesystemet.

"Med en A-ramme får vi mulighed for at håndtere slangesystemet skånsomt, så vi kan trække det op og vedligeholde ombord på skibet; noget man tidligere har tilkaldt andre skibe til", siger Ib Hansen, Head of Commercial hos ESVAGT.

Også på andre område vil det nye MRV kunne løse opgaver, som hidtil har været udlagt til specialskibe, eksempelvis servicering i forbindelse med arbejdet på de ubemandede platforme i området med et såkaldt Walk-to-Work gangway system:

"Med 'Esvagt Innovator' leverer vi et skib, der muliggør stort set alle tænkelige operationer, vi kender i dag – og har plads til at lægge mere på, hvis man gennem vores samarbejde får nye behov. Det er et topmoderne, brændstoføkonomisk og fremtidssikret skib", siger Ib Hansen.

FAKTA
Det 82 meter lange MRV 'Esvagt Innovator' er bygget på Cemre Shipyard i Tyrkiet. Det går i charter i juli 2018.

Skibet er særdeles avanceret og specialdesignet til de opgaver, der skal udføres. A-rammen muliggør slangehåndtering af særligt følsomt udstyr; der er kraner på begge rælinger; DP2; ROV-hangar og dedikeret ROV kontrolrum og et meget innovativt paravaneoliespildsberedskab.

Skibet er forberedt til gangway-system, så man kan overføre teknikere enten via båd eller walk to work, og med 18 dobbeltkamre og aktiv rulletank er der både gode faciliteter og godt arbejdsmiljø til de serviceteknikere, der måtte være med ombord.
